Margie Gardner

Margie joined the Grace church staff in August 2017. Because she believes in our vision to the community and the ‘family’ feel of Grace, she wanted to be a part of the Grace staff and partner with them as they serve Grace and the community. Of the many different aspects of her position, she most enjoys working with the office staff and equipping them to be all they can be.

She was born in Virginia and graduated from Shorter University in Rome, GA with a B.S. in Business Administration. During college and after graduating, she worked for First Baptist Church in their business department and subsequently in their communications department. For the past seven years, she has worked for a non-profit within Delta Airlines to assist employees during disasters, terminal illnesses and devastating injuries. She has also taught computer classes to the elderly, taught at a language camp in Germany and participated in a short-term mission trip to India.

For fun and relaxation, she loves to work in her hummingbird and butterfly garden. When possible, she reads at least one book a week and attempts to learn something new every day. Her favorite vacation includes her husband Jack, a mountain cabin, a good book and a cup of coffee. But, her greatest joy is her grandchildren: Colton, Sadie, and Jayan.

Between Margie and her husband, Jack, they have six children: Jared, Ben, Jordan, Kate, Kirk, and Rebekah.

A relatively unknown fact about herself: “In my brief sojourn on planet Earth, I have rescued (in most cases successfully) an iguana, a nest of baby mice, a toy poodle, a stray kitten, a mastiff, a hummingbird, countless turtles, and too many other critters to mention.”
