Serving Children & Families At Risk in Fayette County
Engage Fayette is committed to supporting families as they raise their children!
April was a full month of activities focusing on serving children and families at risk in this community. We believe that sharing God’s love means sharing in the daily burdens that our friends and neighbors face. Here are some of the ways we supported families and children during the last month:
Alongside our youth and their families, we held an Easter event at Marnelle for children in our community.
In conjunction with Cleveland Elementary, we hosted a Padres and Compadres meeting supporting local Hispanic families as they encourage their children’s academic success.
The annual Grandparents and Kin Raising Children Honors Luncheon was a great success as we cheered on grandparents who are committed to providing stable homes for their grandchildren.
We hosted a Fayette Factor round table discussion with judges, social workers, and child advocates to consider the plight of families in our county and how we can support and encourage them.
We know that most believers come to a saving faith as children. Engaging in the lives of children and families gives us a window to share the gospel. THE GOOD NEWS CLUB, a bible club based at Spring Hill Elementary School, is one way we are sharing Christ’s love directly with children. If you have a passion for sharing Christ with children, we need you! Good News Club depends on volunteers who are committed to building relationships with kids. Contact Sally Simon to learn more about how you can be a part of Good News Club for the 2019/2020 school year (email@example.com).
