'Looking After' People in Distress...

We're studying the letter of James these days - "A Faith That Matters: The Community We're Called to Be".  In James 1:27 we read these words...

Pure and genuine religion in the sight of God the Father means looking after orphans and widows in their distress...

It's one expression of what a faith that matters looks like - defines us as followers of Christ in a visible and meaningful way.

Like so many others our community is feeling the reality of our economy. In partnership with the Real Life Center and Atlanta Food Bank our church hosts a mobile food bank that plays a small role in 'looking after' a few of those in our community. Last Thursday we filled the trunks and back seats of 145 families with a variety of food provided by the Atlanta Food Bank.

Fighting for your hearts,

Gary
